2016-17 Catalog (XLSX) — UPDATE 10/14/16:  This document is a MS Excel Spreadsheet. The file contains four tabs located at the bottom of the spreadsheet view.  There is a  tab for High School, Middle School and Elementary course as well as Course Descriptions.

Driver Education Portal (PDF) — BLaST IU 17 has partnered once again with the Edward Savioz Driver Training School to bring schools a PDE approved 30 hour Driver Education course.  Student registration and management is handled outside of GENIUS. This document provides instructions for adding students and viewing their records.  Please note each school will be provided a unique login and password that will be emailed to you by eQUIP.

Curriculum Provider Technology Requirements

  • eQUIP Curriculum Provider Technology Requirements 2016-17  (PDF) – This document outlines the requirements for accessing all curriculum provided by eQUIP curriculum providers.
    • Note:  This file was last updated on the date noted on the file.  Please check back for updates and contact the eQUIP-AS team before implementing large scale system changes within your program.
  • Accelerate Ed Safe List (PDF) — This document lists the third party websites linked within Accelerate Ed curriculum.  eQUIP recommends reviewing this list and adding the domain names to your school’s filtering software as safe sites.  This will ensure students do not receive errors when accessing their courses.

APEX Learning Start Dates (PDF) — 16-17 SY APEX start and end dates.  Please use these within GENIUS to ensure students have access to their courses according to the APEX set schedule.

  • Accelerate Education K-5 Curriculum Kits and Materials Lists

    • Option 1:  Kits can be purchased from Accelerate Ed for $125.00 per kit, including shipping.  To order kits, PoCs can send the parent’s name and shipping address to Deb Wescott (dwescott@iu17.org). Please note the items listed in the General Supplies below are NOT included in the kits.  Kits will be shipped directly to the parent address.  Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.
    • Option 2:  Schools or parents can secure the items on the lists below.  Please note each list includes items for a complete grade level curriculum.  If a student is taking only select grade level courses, they may not need all of the items. A course specific list is available in the beginning of each course.

  • Accelerate Education Printed Workbooks  — For the 2016-2017 school year, students registered for an Accelerate Ed K-5 core elementary course will automatically be sent a printed workbook. When entering the parent or guardian information, please confirm the address.  Please allow 2 weeks for processing and shipping.  Prior to the workbooks arriving, pages can be printed using the digital copies of the workbooks found in each course.  Please note that Social Studies 4 does not have an available printed workbook and Math KB and 1B will not be available until second semester.

Technology Loan Program

  • Support Call In:  Technology Loan Program Support for technology loaned through the eQUIP Technology Loan Program is provided by calling 877.205.3110 8am to 8pm, Monday-Friday.  Or, students and PoC may use the “Contact School/Contact Support” link found in your GENIUS homeroom.
  • Overview Document (PDF)
    This document provides an overview of the Tech Loan program, quarterly fees and grace periods.
  • Sample Technology Delivery Form (PDF)
    This form will be supplied with each equipment delivery. Deliveries must be signed for by the school district PoC or other designated staff.
  • Sample Borrower Form (PDF)
    This form can be used by school districts to collect Borrower signatures.
  • Selecting Technology Loan Options During Registration Process (PDF)
    This document shows which options are used when registering students within GENIUS

    • Note: All requests for technology need to be made through GENIUS on the Student Information page. Please be sure the student is marked as a “Full-Time” student in order to see the options to request technology.
  • Technology Request Preparation and Delivery Schedule: Technology requests are processed weekly. Enrollments are reviewed Thursday mornings. Enrollments with technology requests entered Monday through Wednesday are prepared and packaged on Thursday and Friday. Delivery will occur the following Monday and Tuesday.
    • Enrollments with technology requests entered on Thursday and Friday will be prepared on the following Monday through Wednesday and delivered the next Monday and Tuesday.
    • Note: Equipment can not be picked up or dropped off at any BLaST office. All equipment will be delivered to the school districts and must be returned to the school districts. eQUIP staff will pickup equipment on delivery days when possible.

 

Submitting IEPs

  • IEP Submission Instructions (PDF) — This document outlines the steps for submitting IEPs to all curriculum provider instructors.
    • Note:  Consideration should be made prior to submitting the IEP to the online teacher regarding the possibility of accommodations within the online environments.  Conversations with the teachers and parents are recommended to determine appropriate actions.

Creating Additional Staff Accounts

  • Creating Staff Accounts * (PDF) — Use this process to create accounts for Guidance Counselors, Teachers, Administrators or other staff.
    • Note:  eQUIP recommends using “Advisor” for individuals who do not need to enroll students and “Institution Administrator” for those that do. Other roles may limit staff ability to support students.
    • * eQUIP recommends all additional staff (advisors) be trained. PoC’s may provide training to school staff. We ask that when you add staff, please let us know and request training if you are unable to train the staff member. All new PoC’s must be trained by eQUIP staff.

2015-16 PIMS Code Guide (XLSX) — Thanks to Holly at CAOLA, we now have a list of PIMS codes for online courses offered by Edison, APEX and Accelerate Ed.  The alignment required review of the course descriptions to find best matches.  If you believe the match needs altered for your program, please feel free to make adjustments.  However, this list should save valuable time.  Thank you Holly!

  • Accelerate Education K-3A Printed Workbooks for Language Arts — Workbooks are NOT required.  All worksheets are included in the course and can be printed as needed.  However, if printing is not an option (or feasible), printed copies can be order free of charge for the Language Arts courses.  Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.  To order printed workbooks, PoCs can send the parents name, student name, course level, specific course name (Social Students 2A for example) and shipping address to Diane Guiser (dguiser@iu17.org). Please see the list of available printed workbooks below.

    • Note:  Workbooks are only available for K-3 Language Arts, first semester courses at this time.  When other course workbooks are available, this list will be updated.
  • Accelerate Education Driver’s Education
    • Enrollment Considerations:  Certification of Completion Options
      • Situation 1:  Student secures Driver’s Permit from PennDOT before enrolling.In order for the Certificate of Completion presented in the course to be accurate and valid, the student MAY first get their Permit from PennDOT. The students will be asked to enter their permit information in order to complete the final exam and receive their certificate of completion.Situation 2:  Student does NOT have a Driver’s Permit.If the student is taking the course without a Permit and is just taking the course for the credit from your school, they can enter “0000000” when asked to enter their Permit number.  Please note, students wishing to eventually update their certificate should NOT use this number. They should follow the instructions below.If the students wishes to eventually use the certificate but does not have a permit at this time or at the time they must complete the course, they can enter TEMP into the permit field. Later, our certificate processing partner (Henry and Joe’s Driving School) will contact them to update the number or they can submit a ticket through GENIUS requesting the update.Situation 3:  Student does NOT have a Drivers Permit, but wants to start the course.Students may start the course and work up to the point of the final exam.  At that time, they may simply leave the course and come back once they have secured their Permit.  They should be aware that the enrollment timeline of their course is still valid and care should be taken to not allow the course end date to be passed.For login credentials and instructions for checking student progress please contact the eQUIP offices.

eQUIP-AS eLearning Program Web Marketing Grant

  • Grant Application: (PDF) The grant will provide eQUIP member school districts with web marketing services for a period of three months. The services are designed to promote the school’s local eLearning program through Google web search. The school’s program will appear in search results for those using the web within the school’s community to search for select keywords related to online learning. The services are intended to point searches to the school district rather than to cyber charter or other private online learning programs. The grant is being provided through BLaST’s partnership with Lin Digital, ABC27 WHTM
